FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012 - Updated

The FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012 soccer tournament is well underway in Japan.

If you don't know what that means, read this blog I wrote last year that gives a pretty darn good explanation of things: HERE.

The FIFA Club World Cup is a soccer tournament between the six champions of the seven continents. That means: Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America - but not Antarctica as there are no cities or permanent populations and the penguins and auks there aren't that good.

This year's version takes place between December 6-16, 2012, and is 9th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA-organized tournament between the champion clubs from each of the six continental confederations as well as the league winner from the host nation. The tournament is (once again) being hosted by Japan.

Who's in the tournament?
  • Corinthians (Sport Club Corinthians Paulista) of Brazil, (first-time) winner of the 2012 Copa Libertadores - representing CONMEBOL (South American Football Confederation;
  • Chelsea Football Club of England, winner of the 2011–12 UEFA Champions League - representing UEFA (Union of European Football Associations);
  • Ulsan Hyundai Football Club of South Korea, winner of the 2012 AFC Champions League - representing AFC (Asian Football Confederation);
  • Al-Ahly Sports Club of Egypt, winner of the 2012 CAF Champions League - representing CAF (Confederation of African Football);
  • Monterrey (Club de Fútbol Monterrey) of Mexico, winner of the 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League - representing CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football);
  • Auckland City Football Club of New Zealand, winner of the 2011–12 OFC Champions League - representing OFC (Oceania Football Confederation);
