Japan Is The Center Of The World - 1850s Map

Here's something neat. Something you don't see everyday... a map of the world that does NOT show the western hemisphere on the left and the Eastern hemisphere on the right.

What we have above is a Japan-centric map, drawn in the 1850s.

Yup... Japan placed itself front and center.

Check it out! The western hemisphere (North, Central and South America) are on the right side of the map... as though it was the eastern hemisphere!

    I like how Australia is attached to Antarctica!
