Japan's Men's Soccer Team Thru To Quarters In Olympics

Japan tied Honduras 0-0 in its third and final match of the Group D... propelling both nations through to the quarter-final round of the Men's soccer tourney at the 2012 London Olympics.

Honduras keeper Jose Mendoza made several superb saves to keep his team tied and help them earn second-place in Group D, as Japan was full marks for the effort.

Japan with the draw finished the stage without surrendering a goal, ending up 2-0-1 and seven points for first.

Quarter-final action continues on August 4, 2012 (Saturday):  
  • Great Britain vs. South Korea in Cardiff, Wales;
  • Japan vs. Egypt in Manchester
  • Brazil vs. Honduras in Newcastle
  • Mexico vs. Senegal in London
Brazil is still considered the favorite to take Gold.
