Manufacturing Slows In Japan - But It's All Good

According to Japan, its manufacturing slowed during the month of August of 2013, but despite that, things are looking up.

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry says manufacturing in the country "shows signs of picking up at a moderate pace," and forecast a rise in production in September and October of 2013.

It is expected that the improvement in manufacturing since late last year will lend support to Japan Prime Minister Abe Shinzo's (surname first) plan to raise the consumption tax next year.

As mentioned, the industrial output fell 0.7 per cent from the previous month, after a 3.4 per cent jump in July of 2013.
