World's Scariest Commercial

The above television commercial is being called the scariest advertisement ever made. It's a Japanese commercial for Autoway Tire.

The commercial actually comes with a Health Warning. Really.

In fact, the opening message of the commercial begins with: "Not for the faint of heart."

Intrigued? Sure. we all love to be scared for some stupid reason.

Next, the warnings continue:
"Please refrain from watching the content if any of the following applies to you: Have any mental or physical health concern and may have to see a doctor regularly."

And it goes on and on with:
"We shall not be liable for any injuries, illness, and damages claimed to be caused by watching the contents."

Now... let's watch the commercial. Turn off the lights and turn up the volume on your computer or whatever you are reading this on... oh, and make sure you are wearing clean underwear... why? Who the hell is wearing dirty underwear? Go... we'll wait for you.

I suppose it's scary... but to me, the scariest advertising was seeing the Flintstones hawking Winston cigarettes. Not only were the women doing all the work around the house, but the men decide it's time to hide and have a smoke. Yeesh. Even if cigarette companies were allowed to advertise on TV (they aren't here in Canada and the US, the sexist nature and a toon selling smokes would cause major uproar.

Here's the Flintstones' scary cigarette commercial.

  1. "What cigarette do you smoke, Doctor? 10s of 1000s of doctors were asked this question... Yes... More doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette."

  2. Watch what you watch, your future begins in your past
